Island of Shared Meaning Mobile Application
Document Title: Mobile Application Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 23, 2026
Applicability: Users of the Island of Shared Meaning mobile application
PRIVACY NOTICE: Reports submitted through Island of Shared Meaning can include personal and health information and are sent to the Dashboard. An installation may be connected to an identifiable referral after you confirm pairing in the app or after an authorized Dashboard administrator claims an unlinked report. Do not assume that a report is anonymous or that deleting the app deletes a submitted report.
1. INFORMATION THE APP SENDS
The app uses an installation credential to connect to the Dashboard and to pair an installation with a referral. Card activity sent to the Dashboard includes the card’s color and mode, along with date and time-zone information.
Reports may include initials and the experience or other details you enter in free text. These details can reveal personal or health information even before the app is linked to a referral. Information you choose to include in a report may be protected health information (PHI).
2. BEFORE AND AFTER LINKING
While an installation has not yet been linked to a referral, submitted reports are retained in the Dashboard with the installation’s information and the initials and details you supplied. This is not a promise of anonymity: the information you enter may identify you.
When you confirm a link in the app, the installation is associated with an identified referral. An authorized Dashboard administrator may also claim an unlinked report and connect its installation to a referral without a separate in-app confirmation. In either case, retained reports from that installation, including reports submitted before the link, are associated with the referral and can be accessed by authorized staff.
In the in-app confirmation flow, choosing not to share historical card activity limits queued historical card uploads. It does not prevent reports already submitted to the Dashboard from being associated with the referral.
3. USE, ACCESS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS
The Dashboard receives card activity and reports to support the Island of Shared Meaning experience and referral-related work by authorized staff. Report details may be reviewed by those staff. If the report-highlights feature is enabled, authorized staff may request a generated highlight of report details longer than 25 words; that request sends the details to AWS Bedrock for processing. This is not an emergency monitoring service.
4. RETENTION AND YOUR REQUESTS
Deleting the app does not delete reports already sent to and retained by the Dashboard. Unlinking an installation does not necessarily erase reports already associated with a referral. Retention and deletion of Dashboard records depend on the applicable record and request; this notice does not promise automatic deletion or a fixed deletion date.
To ask about access to, correction of, or deletion of information associated with your app use or referral, or to ask about unlinking an installation, contact hello@aliratherapy.com. We will review requests in light of the records involved and applicable requirements. Please do not send sensitive report details in an initial email.
For clinical records and related patient rights, see our Notice of Privacy Practices.
5. EMERGENCY & CLINICAL DISCLAIMER
NOT FOR EMERGENCY USE: Island of Shared Meaning is not monitored for real-time crisis intervention or medical emergencies. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, call 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), call 911, or go to the nearest emergency room immediately.
