When school feels harder than it should.

Struggles with schoolwork often have roots beneath the surface. We help teens and parents understand what is getting in the way of learning and build a clear path forward.

Motivation and performance

Falling grades, missed assignments, or a teen who has stopped trying.

Learning differences

Possible learning disorders, ADHD, or autism affecting reading, writing, math, focus, or organization.

Emotional barriers

Anxiety, depression, trauma, or bullying that make school feel overwhelming.

Navigating school systems

Understanding and advocating for IEPs, special education, and the right accommodations.

How we help.

Our psychologists and therapists work with both teens and their families, starting with a clear understanding of current capabilities and temperament.

  1. 1

    Consultation and history

We talk with you and your teen about school, strengths, challenges, and goals.

  2. 2

    Cognitive testing: WISC-V or WAIS-IV

The Wechsler intelligence scales (WISC-V for younger teens, WAIS-IV from age 16) map cognitive strengths and weaknesses, such as reasoning, memory, and processing speed.

  3. 3

    Achievement testing: Woodcock-Johnson IV

Measures reading, writing, and math skills to help identify learning disorders and guide support.

  4. 4

    Feedback and a plan

We explain the results and recommend next steps, from school accommodations to therapy and study strategies.

A compassionate, collaborative approach.

Our approach is compassionate, empathetic, and non-judgmental. We work collaboratively with teens and their families to create a supportive and effective plan.

Get started sooner rather than later: understanding what is really happening is the first step to helping your teen be the best student they can be.
